A successful fun event is always the product of strong participation and help. This year’s chili cook off at the September meeting was a perfect example. Many thanks to those that made chili, brought deserts, and helped with set up and clean up. Even with a good number of members cruising, around seventy members tested, tasted and voted on twelve chili creations, all worthy of top honor consideration. When the votes were tallied, it was the “Colorado Green Chili” entered by Marchelle and Chris Heelis that excited the most taste buds, captured the first place awards, and bragging rights for the year. Coming in a close second was Patti and Wayne Boese and in third place Sally Myers. Special thanks to Barb Cartwright and Kim Parr for their wonderful embroidery work on the participant and winner awards.

For those that weren’t out on the water Sunday, it was good to see the crews of Sea Monster, Diva Gorda, Paradiso, Serendipity and Adagio out ready to race. The forecast was for northerly winds to fill in, but… as those that were on the water know, they didn’t… So at 1450 hours, the AP over A flags were raised and race officer Dennis Peck rightly called off racing for the day. My ride over the bridge at 1545 hours further confirmed that call. So it looks like the 2015 Summer Series is going to be scored with 4 races completed. Thanks to all who came out, including the members of the Race Committee.Remember, the first race of the Fall Series begins September 6th. So far I have received one entry. So.. get them in the mail folks!
Fair winds! Phil SandersCo-chair RacePGSC
