Florida anchoring ban bill to be heard 2/24/2016!

Per Mike Ahart,  Vessel anchoring legislation is scheduled for a hearing on Wed, Feb. 24, 2016. Fl Senate Bill CS-1260, which would ban overnight anchoring in several areas popular with cruising boaters in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach, with some exceptions, is one of nine bills currently on the agenda for a hearing….http://goo.gl/clGV2h .

ALERT: Boca Grande Pass Buoys changes

Between Feb 10-18, the Coast Guard will be relocating all buoys in to the south that are close to the encroaching shoals and relocate the buoys to deeper water so the Coast Guard buoy tender can safely transit to perform maintenance. 3 & 4: Move 75 Yds SE, 3A: Several 100′s Yds SE to edge of shoal, 5 & 6: 100 Yds SE, 7 & 8: Undetermined, 10: 100 Yds SE & 12: 100 Yds SE

Please visit the Christmas Card Lane at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center (downtown Punta Gorda).  This is a new location this year because of the Construction in Gilchrist Park.
This Christmas Card Lane is sponsored by the Punta Gorda Kiwanis Club. Continuing a long tradition, the Kiwanis Cub of Punta Gorda has organized Christmas Card Lane since 1999.  The PGSC Christmas Card has been a part of this tradition for many years thanks to our members John and BJ Fox Family who designed and created our beautiful card on display with all the other local organizations.
